Character Background and Description

Benito is a tall, handsome man with olive skin, a chevron mustache, and thick, dark salt-and-pepper hair that he wears slicked back at all times. His position as chief of police has allowed him to remain relatively wealthy for the majority of his life, and he shows this by wearing high-end suits and other fine business-wear every day of the week. He is constantly trying to earn the good favor of the famous Signorino family with the hopes of earning a career position even higher than the one he currently holds.

Though he is married with two children, he is rarely home enough to see his family as much as any man should, and when he is home, he is far too busy pouring over his work files to properly father his children or provide his wife with affection. With the help of his financial stability, he has managed to buy his children's way into the Naval Military School a year earlier than admission usually allows, which to him guarantees that his family will continue to be an upstanding, well-known name around Madrenice and simultaneously lets him ignore his familial responsibilities.

Benito is a passionate man to a fault. While he does have quite the silver tongue, he is known to be stubborn and headstrong in his beliefs, almost never budging on any opinions he holds about careers, culture, and other species. He despises the fae and the merfolk for worshipping deities other than the Great Craftsman, of whom he is a dedicated supporter. Unlike some of the humans who have chosen to overlook their religious and cultural differences in hopes of a greater overall sense of community in Madrenice, Benito is entirely against the integration of fae into the upper-class workplace.
